The talent to capture beauty in things that go unnoticed

About Us

About Us

Camera Cliques Studios became a reality after many years of envisioning a studio for both amateurs and professionals, alike. The desire to promote photography as an art form and to have a place to socialize with like-minded individuals, grew. When given the opportunity to open a studio, it was seized. We are a family-owned and family-friendly organization. We are located at 43rd. Avenue and Bell Road, behind Discount Tire in NW Phoenix.

Albert's Passion

My passion for photography started as a child taking pictures with an old used film camera that was given to me. In the early 70’s I went to a community college to learn about photography. I even built my own darkroom in a small storage room at home. I developed mostly black & white pictures. When I married, my new bride loved photography and the fact that I had my own darkroom; however, as children came, my darkroom went. Storage became more important than the need for a darkroom.

Until the introduction of digital cameras, photography was difficult to master, so people would use professional photographers to capture their special moments. Photography back in the film days was a hit and a miss for the amateur and the novice. You had a film roll of 12, 24 or 36 exposures and you didn’t know what you captured until the film was developed, maybe a week or two later. With today’s digital photography, most everyone has a camera in their phone and they take good pictures. Best of all you can take thousands of them at no cost and see them instantly

As good as phone cameras are, they can’t take pictures like a DSLR camera. But a DSLR comes at a cost, not necessarily financially, (even though they can become quite costly), but the cost I’m referring to is the learning curve. Before switching to DSLR camera, one must first understand the basics of photography. Without this knowledge they’re better off sticking with their cell phone camera. I know many people who bought a DSLR camera, only to come to me later, frustrated, and ask if I would show them how to use it.

I opened Camera Cliques Studios to provide a place to teach people about photography through workshops and to have a place for professionals and amateurs alike, to do their studio work. Amateurs often want to expand their photography skills, and keeping a full-time studio is getting costly for professionals. Camera Cliques Studios also provides a meeting place for professional photographers to network and a photography club for those who want to be part of a group of like-minded people who love photography.
